The Client
acquevenete is the water utility serving 107 municipalities in the Veneto region. It runs two avatars in production: a self-service assistant for everyday citizen requests, and a sign-language avatar so deaf citizens can complete tasks directly. This is a European deployment by Vection Technologies, DXLabs' parent company. DXLabs brings the same platform and patterns to ANZ.
The Challenge
A public service assumes a citizen who can read the form, wait on hold, and hear the phone. Deaf and hard-of-hearing citizens were left needing an intermediary to reach a service that is theirs by right.
What ran
A 24/7 self-service avatar handles information lookups, form downloads, service-desk locations and meter-reading submission through guided conversation. Alongside it, a sign-language avatar delivers the same service in Italian Sign Language: citizens choose their question and receive signed answers, including a dedicated signed flow for submitting meter readings. The architecture extends toward Auslan, which is the build step for ANZ.
The results
The service runs every day, around the clock, across 107 municipalities. It has resolved 42,000 citizen requests, most in around five messages, and its sign-language channel lets deaf and hard-of-hearing citizens complete tasks directly, with no interpreter in the loop.
