Trenitalia is Italy's national rail operator, running around 9,200 trains a day across a 16,500-kilometre network carrying roughly 500 million passengers a year. Maintenance quality and consistency at that scale is a workforce problem as much as an engineering one. This is a European deployment by Vection Technologies, DXLabs' parent company. DXLabs brings the same platform and patterns to ANZ.
The Challenge
Maintenance expertise lives in experienced hands, and staff turnover takes it with them. Classroom training transfers it slowly, paper procedures transfer it imperfectly, and language differences across a large workforce compound both.
What ran
Step-by-step 3D maintenance procedures built on the 3DFrame platform, AR work instructions layered onto the real working environment, and shared virtual training sessions where teams rehearse procedures together regardless of location.
The results
The programme delivers faster, more effective and repeatable training, reduces the impact of staff turnover on maintenance capability, carries instruction across language barriers, and lifts maintenance efficiency, safety and traceability.
